Want a great way to build you email list? An IFO is one of the easiest ways to do just that!
An IFO (Incredible Free Offer) - is a piece of content you "give away" to your clients in exchange for their contact information. It's a win-win! They get a helpful piece of content (e.g. "Insider's Guide To Saving Money While Traveling") and you get to add them to your mailing list where you send travel specials, newsletters, etc!
Before you begin - you must already have a piece of content you will use as the IFO. Most of the time this will be in a PDF format.
Additionally, you will want to create a hidden page and put the Scribd Element or File Element on it. You will upload the IFO to the Scribd or File.
How To Create the IFO Sign Up On Your Website
Step 1: Go to you site editor and select the page you want to add the IFO on to.
Pro Tip: Put it in a prominent place - like the home page.
Step 2: There are some other design options you can play around with, but here is what we recommend:
- A box element (content color box, call-out box, mighty box, etc)
- Newsletter element (or simple contact form if you want to ask more)
- Image element
First, drag the box where you want the IFO sign up to go. Next, drag the Newsletter Element into the Box Element. Finally, drag the Image Element into the Box and place it above the Newsletter Element.
Step 3: Next, you will want to edit what's in the box.
1.) Upload the picture that represents the IFO into the image element. A screenshot of the front page of the IFO works great for this!
2.) Customize the text with something to grab your readers' attention and let them know what this is all about (AKA your call to action)

3.) Click on the Newsletter Element and click the "Form Options" button to change the properties of the element.

4.) Change the Form Name to the IFO Name

5.) Change the Button to something like "Get My Free Copy Now"
6.) Click on Confirmation and change the default option to Message to Link. Then, put the link to your IFO from your hidden IFO page. (You make it "hidden" by checking "Hide in Navigation" on your Page Menu for that page.
7.) Make sure you "SAVE" the newsletter properties by click the orange "SAVE" button.
Step 4: Publish the website and test out your IFO widget!
Here is what the final product should look like on your website.
